Richard Reithinger, Director
Richard Reithinger is an epidemiologist with 25+ years’ working experience in Africa, Asia and Latin America, overseeing and managing large-scale public health programs. A major interest of his has been the prevention, control, surveillance, and elimination of infectious diseases, with a particular emphasis on malaria and NTDs, and how research results, tools and approaches can be scaled-up programmatically to maximize impact on the burden of these diseases. Over the course of his career, Richard has worked in academia, for the non-governmental for-profit and not-for-profit sector, as well as bilateral and multilateral agencies, both in the U.S. and abroad.
He is a Member of the Technical Review Panel of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria; he is an Editorial Board Member of PLoS NTDs, Transactions of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine & Hygiene, and BMC Infectious Diseases.
