Strengthening malaria surveillance for data-driven decision making in Mozambique

Strengthening Malaria Surveillance for Data-driven Decision-making in Mozambique was a three-and-a-half-year project funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, designed to address some of the major bottlenecks to effective routine malaria surveillance in the country. The overall goal was to strengthen malaria surveillance, improve data quality and increase the use of data for strategic and operational decision-making in Mozambique. The project sought to operationalise a functional malaria surveillance system responsive to all transmission strata across Mozambique, strengthening data quality and establishing a culture of data use and data-to-action.
