The World Health Organization's 2025 World Malaria Report shows that 2.3 billion malaria cases and 14 million deaths were averted between 2000 and 2024, with one million lives saved in 2024 alone.
Despite progress, including 47 countries and one territory now officially certified as malaria-free by WHO, malaria remains a serious global health challenge, with growing antimalarial drug resistance, climate change, conflict and underfunding placing decades of progress at risk. It's never been more important to translate funding into action, and action into impact. We can end malaria, if we act together.
