After receiving training from key influencers trained by USAID’s MAPD, school teacher Twinomugisa Harriet ensures her year two pupils are free from malaria.
Malaria is a major cause of ill health in Uganda and a cause of poverty. After being visited by Mary Mutumba, one of the key influencers trained by USAID's Malaria Action Program for Districts (MAPD), Twinomugisa Harriet, a 42-year-old teacher in Bulindi Primary School Hoima district, was able to reduce malaria infections in her home. She then decided to ensure that her pupils in year two can live withouth malaria too.
