Supporting Uganda’s Malaria Reduction and Elimination Strategy (SUMRES): Working towards malaria-free districts in Uganda

Published:

Resources: Project brief

The SUMRES project aims to implement integrated community case management and other vector control measures.

Malaria Consortium is establishing a functional integrated community case management (iCCM) programme in the northern Uganda Lango and Acholi regions through the Supporting Uganda’s Malaria Reduction and Elimination Strategy (SUMRES) project. It aims to reduce morbidity and mortality due to malaria and other common illnesses and targets a population of approximately 2.8 million people, including 28,000 pregnant women and 561,000 under-fives. The three key interventions that we seek to deliver are: iCCM; capacity development at private health facilities; and surveillance and health systems strengthening.
