Malaria is preventable and treatable, but many children in Africa still die from malaria before their fifth birthday. The ACCESS-SMC project has proven the feasibility, safety and effectiveness of seasonal malaria chemoprevention at scale. An estimated gap of 12 to 18 million children could benefit from the intervention, but are not currently included.
