Digitalisation of seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) across all districts of Nampula province during the 2023/24 SMC campaign proved effective for near-real-time data visualisation and allowed complete removal of paper-based data collection.

In 2023/2024, during the second year of SMC implementation, digitalisation was introduced into campaign planning and implementation, reaching 1.5 million children across Nampula province, Mozambique. In this presentation we share reflections and lessons on the campaign digitalisation process in Mozambique, from planning and training to implementation of the SALAMA application. View the presentation for more information on the methodological approach taken to digitalise SMC, and key highlights of the results.

This presentation was given at the Global Digital Health Forum 2024, held in Nairobi, Kenya.
