Project briefThe Cross-border project in northern Cambodia aims to eliminate and prevent the re-establishment of malaria in remote areas via mobile malaria workers.
Although work towards eliminating malaria in Cambodia has been successful in recent years, cases are still found in communities living in the remote, forested areas near the northern border. Efforts need to be made to inhibit the spread of malaria among these high-risk migrant populations to fully eliminate the disease and prevent its re-introduction. Malaria Consortium is implementing a three-year project that involves training respected members of affected communities to deliver malaria services in six provinces along Cambodia's border.
