The upSCALE intervention in Mozambique consists of two applications: a smartphone app that guides community health workers (CHWs) through patient registration and diagnosis, and a tablet-based app that supervisors can use to schedule supervisory visits and to monitor CHW performance and commodity stock levels. One of the aims of the upSCALE project is to determine how a digitised community health information system can facilitate improved quality of service delivery through more accurate diagnosis and, consequently, timely treatment.
