Effective scale-up of perennial malaria chemoprevention in Nigeria requires addressing health system gaps, strengthening caregiver awareness and deepening community engagement.
Recognised for its high impact, cost-effectiveness and alignment with existing child health services, perennial malaria chemoprevention (PMC) has been recommended as a strategy to sustain malaria control gains and reduce the burden of malaria in young children. To generate country-specific evidence on its effectiveness and operational feasibility, a process evaluation was conducted in Osun state to identify barriers and enablers to effective implementation of SP-PMC.
