Formative assessment on integrated management of newborn and childhood illness implementation in Ethiopia
Published:
Resources: Project report
This formative assessment explores issues that are critical to improve child health services in Ethiopia.
While Ethiopia has made significant progress in addressing under-five mortality and morbidity, disease-specific burden from pneumonia and diarrhoea remains high. A detailed plan to implement integrated approaches to reduce under-five deaths from pneumonia and diarrhoea is required. This formative assessment looks to explore the strengths and weaknesses of the existing strategies, the quality and utilisation of services, and the related issues critical for the enhancement of child health services. It aims to inform the development of an integrated management of newborn and childhood illness action plan for pneumonia and diarrhoea.
