FORECAST: Forecasting outbreak risks from extreme climate with active surveillance technology

Published:

Resources: Project brief

We are developing an early warning system to prepare for and control outbreaks of mosquito-borne diseases caused by extreme weather in Uganda.

Extreme weather events are increasing in frequency and are associated with outbreaks of vector-borne diseases such as malaria, yellow fever and Rift Valley fever. Malaria Consortium and project partners will be developing predictive models and a risk mapping system, as well as enhancing the national outbreak preparedness and response plan.
