Partial integration of azithromycin mass drug administration into an existing child survival platform in Kebbi state was beneficial in delivering high-quality results without co-administration.
This study aimed to compare the quality and effectiveness of the neglected tropical diseases and seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) platforms for mass drug administration of azithromycin (AZM MDA). However, due to operational challenges, full integration with the SMC platform was not possible. Therefore, a partial integration approach was adopted, utilising SMC’s planning, logistics, training and supervision structures for AZM MDA while delivering the two interventions separately. This poster presents the results of the performance assessment of the partial integration of AZM MDA with the SMC platform.
