Designing interventions to increase the use of malaria nets

Resources: Case study

Malaria Consortium has been working with the Behavioural Insights Team (BIT) to design and test interventions that close the gap that exists between availability and use of insecticide-treated nets.

Insecticide-treated nets are among the most cost-effective tools for reducing malaria mortality. However, many people who have access to nets are not using them consistently. This case study describes how Malaria Consortium and BIT worked with communities in Nigeria and Uganda to find out what stopped them from using nets and the interventions that would help to overcome these barriers to net use.
