There has been an increasing amount of interest in the SMC intervention from governments, donors and stakeholders.This year, in addition to presenting at the Houses of Parliament, ACCESS-SMC in collaboration with the WHO Global Malaria Programme (GMP), the West Africa Health Organisation (WAHO) of the ECOWAS organized a joint Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention Implementation Meeting. Representatives from twelve African countries gathered in Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso to discuss the scale up of seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) following the success of ACCESS-SMC.
