UNFPA Burkina Faso
Malaria Consortium is contributing to the implementation of comprehensive sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services in the Centre-North health region for the benefit of adolescents and young people by mobile teams and community health workers (Agents de Santé à base Communautaire, ASBCs). To create a supportive environment for SRH/family planning service delivery, capacity building for ASBCs as well as awareness sessions and communication campaigns are planned. Activities will aim to improve access for adolescents and young people in the Centre-North region, taking into account internally displaced youth, to information and quality SRH/FP services through capacity strengthening and the promotion of a supportive environment. Emphasis will also be placed on malaria prevention through training for ASBCs, who will conduct home visits to identify, administer intermittent preventive treatment (IPT) and iron supplements, and refer pregnant women. The programme will focus on coordination between Malaria Consortium, the region and the districts. For monitoring the implementation of activities, collected data will be analysed to assess the impact of UNFPA's contribution to women, newborns, adolescents and young people, taking into account the humanitarian context.
