Supporting lymphoedema morbidity management
Under this sub-grant, Malaria Consortium Ethiopia will implement the following project activities in Hawela Tula and Hula woredas in the Sidama region: organising woreda-level advocacy workshops; training health workers on lymphedema MMDP; facilitating hydrocele surgeries; conducting supportive supervisions; and training Health Extension Workers (HEWs) on patient identification, referral and psychosocial support needs.
Additionally, the trained HEWs will facilitate community meetings to raise awareness and help mobilise lymphedema and hydrocele patients.
