Revenue growth and trends (FY25)
MC-US had its most successful fundraising year to date in FY25 with just over $12.6 million in charitable donations.
- 43% were restricted donations to our seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) program;
- 54.7% were unrestricted donations;
- 2.2% of donations were restricted to our HPV vaccine program in Cambodia.
Revenue growth and trends (FY24)
MC-US recorded a 280% increase in charitable donations in FY24 compared to the previous fiscal year.
Key giving channels included:
- 70% from individuals and family foundations via Donor Advised Funds (DAFs)
- 15% from individual monthly givers
- 10% from corporate matches and direct donations
- 5% from community foundations

3-year annual revenue growth (2022-2024)
From 2022 to 2024, MC-US saw a consistent growth in charitable donations year over year. This was likely driven by increasingly effective fundraising, supported by clear evidence that these programs are saving children’s lives from malaria and strengthening prevention and treatment for diseases including childhood pneumonia, COVID-19, podoconiosis and cervical cancer.

3-year revenue by restriction (2022-2024)
Over the past three years, MC-US has achieved sustained revenue growth:
- 2022: 83% unrestricted, 17% restricted
- 2023: 72% unrestricted, 28% restricted
- 2024: 50% restricted (primarily to SMC), 47% unrestricted, and 3% restricted to HPV vaccination programs.
This growth reflects the generosity of our donors and the strength of our life-saving programs.
Legacy and non-cash giving
In 2023, MC-US contracted with FreeWill, a nonprofit organization which facilitates free estate planning and legacy gifts in support of nonprofit organizations that work on meaningful issues. FreeWill provides an online platform which allows individuals to make legacy commitments to MC-US. In this fiscal year 33 legacy commitments totaling $11.5 million were pledged. The FreeWill platform also allows individuals to connect to Malaria Consortium’s website to learn more about our projects and impact.
Additionally, beginning in September 2024, MC-US now accepts tax-deductible non-cash donations including stock, securities, IRA distributions, and cryptocurrency — further broadening opportunities for philanthropic support. This can be accessed and completed online at

Looking ahead
As global health challenges evolve — including the threat of malaria drug resistance, emerging infectious diseases, and the impact of climate on malaria mosquito vectors — Malaria Consortium US is committed to remaining a reliable partner in health improvement. Our focus remains on funding scalable, evidence-based interventions and improving the resilience of health systems to protect vulnerable populations.
We are immensely grateful to our donors, partners, and the Board of Directors whose support and leadership make this mission possible.
