Plan for your future, create lasting change
Planning for your future is a powerful way to make important life decisions, protect your loved ones and create an enduring impact on the causes you care about most.
By leaving a gift in your Will, you can empower communities to put the reality of better health in their own hands. Your generosity will help us invest in healthcare solutions to fight diseases like malaria and save lives.
A simple way to leave a legacy
We have collaborated with FreeWills, specialists in the field, who provide a free, easy-to-use online tool that allows you to plan your estate with the option to designate a portion of your assets to Malaria Consortium, and support other charities close to your heart. This service is only available to residents of England and Wales.
When speaking with FreeWills, please mention that you were referred by Malaria Consortium. They are able to connect you with a solicitor who will assist in creating or updating a simple Will at no cost, and any other requirements you may need.
Malaria Consortium does not offer legal or financial advice. We recommend consulting professional advisors when creating or updating your Will. Clicking the button above will take you to FreeWills, an external site not managed by Malaria Consortium.
Other things to consider
Drafting a Will is a good idea to ensure that your wishes are clearly articulated and honoured. It also facilitates the management of your affairs for your loved ones after your death. Before you create or revise your Will, it is advisable to assess the value of your assets and possessions, and determine the type of gift you wish to leave.
-
Residuary
This involves leaving a cash gift, which is a predetermined amount, such as £5,000. These gifts are disbursed from your estate first, with the remaining assets allocated according to your Will's instructions.
-
Pecuniary
This type of gift represents a portion of your estate, for instance, five percent. Many individuals choose to divide their estate into 100 equal parts. After providing for family and friends, you can allocate a specific number of parts to Malaria Consortium. Unlike a cash gift, a share of your estate retains its value over time.
-
Specific
This entails bequeathing a particular item that you identify in your Will, such as a painting, piece of jewellery, or furniture.
