What is payroll giving?
Payroll giving, also known as Give As You Earn (GAYE), allows you to donate straight from your salary before tax — making it one of the easiest and most cost-effective ways to support our work. By setting up a regular donation, you’ll be helping us save lives every month. It’s simple for you, and life-changing for others.
We are strengthening our commitment to women in marginalised and remote populations.
In 2024, 4,558 community members were reached with sexual and reproductive health rights messages.
Despite being preventable and treatable, cervical cancer killed 350,000 women in 2022 and remains the fourth most common cancer in women worldwide, disproportionately affecting those in low- and middle-income countries. This means that women in communities at risk of malaria might also be at risk of cervical cancer.

In 2024, we launched a pioneering cervical cancer project in Thma Pouk district, Banteay Meanchey province in Cambodia — a region often overlooked for health services due to its remote location. Cambodia has one of the highest rates of cervical cancer disease and death in the world, despite being easily prevented and treated if detected early. More than 1,500 women develop cervical cancer each year in Cambodia as a result of lack of access to health services.
A governor expressed her concern about the HPV Catch-up project ending in December 2024.
“Would you be able to extend the project here? Cervical cancer is such a crucial topic, and it has never been addressed in this district before.”
With your support, we can fund future initiatives — like this cervical cancer project in Cambodia — to help ensure no one is left behind in the fight for equal access to health care.
£2,500 could support 10 community health workers to provide health services directly to families in remote areas.
Why donate through your salary?
Donating through your salary not only helps Malaria Consortium to save lives, but it also offers several benefits for you:

Simple
It’s easy to set up and start giving.

Private
We do not ask for your bank details since the donation comes directly out of your salary.

Control
You can stop or change your donation at any time by contacting your workplace payroll team.

Tax-efficient
Because donations are taken from your gross salary (before tax), your donation will cost you even less. For example, if you are a basic rate taxpayer and choose to give £5, it will only cost you £4, making your contribution go further.
How payroll giving works
If you are an employee...
If your employer has introduced workplace giving and matching, you can choose to support Malaria Consortium. You can follow these three steps:
-
Step 1: Speak to your employer
Before you can set up payroll giving, you’ll need to find out if your employer is signed up to a Payroll Giving Agency.
-
Step 2: Fill in their payroll giving form
It’s quick and easy to set up payroll giving. Just fill in your company’s form and we’ll do the rest.
-
Step 3: Start donating
Every time you're paid, your payroll department will deduct the agreed amount from your salary and send it to us. There's nothing more for you to do.
If you are an employer...
Make it easy for your employees to support Malaria Consortium by adding us to your list of approved payroll giving charities and promoting us through your internal channels.
You can also introduce workplace giving and matching. The easiest way to do this is by signing up to a platform, such as Benevity and the Charities Aid Foundation (CAF). These services empower employees to support causes they care about — including Malaria Consortium — and even create their own giving opportunities.
