21 April 2011 London, 21 April 2011: The Financial Times has published a special report on malaria to highlight the progress that has been made in tackling malaria but also to expand on the many issues and challenges still faced.
The FT Special Report on Combating Malaria, issued on 21 April, focuses on various critical elements in the control of malaria including medical interventions, high-end research, community based diagnosis and treatment, and the role of the private sector.
The report focuses on a number of areas integral to Malaria Consortium’s work as we attempt to contain the spread of malaria drug-resistance in Southeast Asia and continue to scale up our work in communities to look beyond just prevention through net distributions, to systemic change in the provision of correct and timely treatments.
The report also features Malaria Consortium’s new advert urging people to get involved and alleviate the burden of this disease. We are delighted to be part of this extremely important annual report as it always brings much needed attention to the on-going fight against this preventable and treatable killer disease.
