This year is an important one for the fight against malaria. Great progress has been made since 2000 and the launch of the Millennium Development Goals, but as the Sustainable Development Goals usher in a new era for development, much still remains to do. 584,000 people still die from malaria every year, 90 percent of whom are children.
A few months ago two documents that will provide the framework for malaria elimination over the next fifteen years were launched, the Global Technical Strategy for Malaria 2015-2030 (GTS), and Action and Investment to defeat Malaria 2015-2030 (AIM). As the WHO World Malaria Report 2015 is released, we convene this roundtable event to discuss:
Recent progress in the fight against malaria
The reception will also be covered by The Parliament Magazine in a special feature to be published and distributed after the event.
Please note lunch will be provided at the event.
