iCCM: Saving Time Saves Lives

Malaria Consortium has been supporting the training of nearly 7,000 Village Health Team Members in nine districts of Uganda in integrated community case management. This approach integrates the diagnosis and basic treatment of the three main childhood illnesses, diarrhoea, pneumonia and malaria, and the referral of severely ill children to a health facility. This happens at community level, saving precious time for those who would need to travel far to reach the nearest health centre.
