Malaria is the cause of over 40 percent of all deaths in Cameroon. Since 2018 there has been ongoing armed conflict in the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon. The main study objective was to improve access to effective malaria case management, through community-based services in conflict-affected and host communities in the Southwest and Littoral regions of Cameroon. We carried out formative work to explore the sociocultural and health system context, and undertook a mid-term review to evaluate progress on the implementation of three interventions: community dialogue, supportive supervision and a voucher system for subsidised transport and treatment for simple and severe malaria.
This oral presentation was given at the Multilateral Initiative on Malaria (MIM) Society's 8th Pan-African Malaria Conference.
