Seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) is a highly effective community-based intervention to prevent malaria infections in areas where the malaria burden is high and transmission occurs mainly during the rainy season. In 2023, across Malaria Consortium’s portfolio, we targeted 25 million children with SMC. Malaria Consortium is a key implementing partner, providing technical and operational support to national malaria programmes.
Read the project brief to find out more about the different activities we will be involved with as well as some of the innovative research we are carrying out to improve the delivery of SMC.
