Introducing a digital intervention to strengthen the Boma Health Initiative

A project to digitalise integrated community case management in South Sudan aims to address gaps in reporting and increase data quality, and could also improve child health outcomes.

The South Sudan Ministry of Health (MoH) adopted the Boma Health Initiative in 2017 with the aim of standardising the provision of community health services and enhancing access to essential primary healthcare. Malaria Consortium is working in partnership with the MoH on a project to develop a new digital tool that supports the implementation of the Boma Health Initiative and addresses critical gaps in data and reporting. Digitalisation also has the potential to improve integrated community care management of malaria, pneumonia and diarrhoea and increase child survival.
