Tools for Integrated Management of Childhood Illness

Project

Tools for Integrated Management of Childhood Illness

The Tools for Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (TIMCI) project is UNITAID-funded and primarily implemented by PATH. As part of their objective to strengthen the market for next generation multimodal pulse oximetry (PO) devices, PATH is conducting a mixed methods study to measure the performance and feasibility of such devices by PHC providers in Kenya, Senegal, Tanzania, and Uttar Pradesh, India (Project Countries).

Malaria Consortium, building on our previous pneumonia diagnostics, ARIDA and Breathe projects, as well as current work developing IMNCI Action Plan acted as technical partner with PATH to instruct them how to conduct a video-based respiratory rate annotation, writing standard operational procedures on how to capture the videos, including step by step instructions and recommendations on required steps and methods, as well as how to annotate the results. As technical partner with PATH, Malaria Consortium will implement this project based in Ethiopia for a period of six months.
