SuNMaP was jointly managed by a consortium of organisations led by Malaria Consortium. Health Partners International and GRID Consulting were part of the core partners who provide overall governance.
One of the most significant aspects of SuNMaP was its focus on partnerships across the public sector, commercial sector and civil society. The programme relied on a strong and inclusive mix of partners supporting the National Malaria Elimination Programme in Nigeria.
Each of these international and local partners had complementary expertise in the various aspects of the SuNMaP programme. The international partners had oversight on each of the programme outputs, working with national partners and building their capacities as programme activities were implemented. The partners and their areas of expertise were as follows:
Control of malaria and other communicable diseases
Health systems and capacity strengthening
Programme setup, financial control
Demand creation
Commodities logistics and management
Operational research
Engagement with commercial sector
