Moving towards elimination - Malaria Consortium at 10

In February 2014, Malaria Consortium hosted a 10th anniversary symposium to celebrate a decade helping to manage communicable diseases and improve child health among the most vulnerable and marginalised.

The third session, presented by Dr Sylvia Meek (Malaria Consortium Technical Director), entitled 'Moving towards elimination', highlighted the historical shift over the past decade in ambitions to fight malaria, as well as the importance of achieving elimination of falciparum malaria, and the need for improved surveillance systems and capacity to provide information to support the move elimination in some parts of the world.

Dr Sylvia Meek was joined by fellow panellists Professor Simon Brooker (London School of Health & Tropical Medicine), Dr Lek Dysoley (Ministry of Health, Cambodia), and Professor Chris Drakeley (London School). The session was chaired by Dr Arantxa Roca-Feltrer (Malaria Consortium Asia Technical Director).
