ACCESS-SMC brought together leaders in malaria prevention to reach over 6.4 million children in seven countries across the Sahel in 2016. This year, ACCESS-SMC will implement one last season to reach roughly 3.9 million children in Burkina Faso, Chad and Nigeria, countries supported by Malaria Consortium. The other four ACCESS-SMC countries will continue seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) programmes under a new funding framework supported by the Global Fund. Malaria can be prevented. In the Sahel, SMC can help prevent it.
