This presentation was prepared for the Pneumonia Diagnostics project meeting of the Scientific Advisory Committee in Geneva in June 2014. It highlights Malaria Consortium’s role in the multi-country project, which aims to identify the most accurate, acceptable, scalable and user-friendly respiratory rate timers and pulse oximeters for the diagnosis of pneumonia symptoms. Initial findings and constraints experienced by community health workers are highlighted.
