The aim of the project is to support countries in the development of efficient, comprehensive and sustainable programmes to ensure high ownership and use of long lasting insecticidal nets and other malaria prevention technologies.

The aim of this project is to support the Nigerian government in coordinating malaria control interventions at all three levels of government, harnessing the various skills and resources of the Roll Back Malaria partners.









Seasonal Malaria Chemoprevention
Malaria Consortium is implementing and assessing the feasibility of a community-based seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) project in Katsina state, northern Nigeria, with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Following new World Health Organisation policy recommendations on SMC, this project administers full antimalarial treatments during the rainy season in areas with highly seasonal malaria transmission to prevent illness among childen under five.
