Giving Tuesday: how to donate to Malaria Consortium

Your gift to Malaria Consortium this Giving Tuesday will help transform lives across Africa and Asia.

We work closely with national governments to deliver projects that tackle some of the world’s biggest killers, including malaria, pneumonia, diarrhoea and dengue. By donating to us, you are helping to deliver a range of solutions – from antimalarial drugs and insecticide-treated nets to intricate, country-wide data surveillance systems.

You can donate quickly on our donation page. You can choose to give a one-time gift, or a monthly donation to maximise your impact. Be sure to select which country you are from.

Seasonal malaria chemoprevention

If you wish to give specifically to our seasonal malaria chemoprevention (SMC) programme, which has just been named as a GiveWell ‘top charity’ for the fourth year running, then the best way to give is through the GiveWell website. (You can also donate to that project by using the donation page on our website, but please ensure that you specify that you want to restrict your gift to SMC.) 

Double your impact

If you want to have your donation to Malaria Consortium – either generally or for SMC – doubled for free, then you need to act fast. Facebook is offering a match fund that goes live on Giving Tuesday at 1pm GMT (8am EST, 2pm CET). You will need to donate through Facebook, and there is a small amount of preparation you will need to do. Last year, the fund ran out in just 15 seconds. The full explanation can be found here.

Please note: these Facebook fundraisers will stay live after the match fund has run out, so it’s still a very easy way to give to Malaria Consortium. You can find the general one here, and the SMC-specific one here.

You can give to Malaria Consortium on Facebook in two other ways.

One: head to our Facebook page and click the blue “donate” button.

Two: by setting up a Facebook Fundraiser. Simply go to our page, and click on “fundraisers” in the left-hand column. Then click “raise money” to set one up. This is a great way to get other people involved in your fundraising around Giving Tuesday.
