DFID and Malaria Consortium Collaborate on Country Profiles
19 July 2011 London, 19 July 2011: The UK’s Department for International Development (DFID) has published a series of malaria endemic country profiles co-authored by Malaria Consortium. The profiles were designed to provide a detailed analysis of the disease burden in each of the highest burden countries, recognising that many of the issues facing malaria control are context-specific. DFID commissioned the profiles for health adviser teams in DFID country offices and have made them available online.
The profiles use evidence from multiple sources, much of which is country specific, so profiles are not necessarily directly comparable. However, they serve to provide a comprehensive backdrop to the state of global malaria control efforts.
