18 December

Wishing you a happy holiday season and best wishes for the new year!

It has been a big year for the global health community and for us at Malaria Consortium. With the end of the Millennium Development Goals in 2015, we have the opportunity to stand back and assess the progress we have made so far. And for the most part, it looks good. Malaria has been one of the biggest success stories of the last 15 years, and significant progress has been made for other health indicators too. But there is still much work that remains to be done to ensure that we do not lose momentum.

In 2014-15, we have continued our work in reducing malaria deaths and incidence; helping governments to tailor, innovate, adopt and apply interventions best suited to their needs; delivering integrated community case management programmes; extending our engagement to dengue and other neglected tropical diseases; and extending our work on health system effectiveness and efficiency at a more holistic level.
