The Scholarship for Entomology was set up in memory of Malaria Consortium’s Global Technical Director, whose untimely passing away in 2016 has left a significant void in the fight against infectious diseases, and malaria in particular.
We launched the scholarship in partnership with Mahidol University’s Faculty of Tropical Medicine (FTM) in Bangkok to continue Sylvia’s legacy. FTM is a global centre of excellence for entomology, vector control, malaria elimination and tropical medicine, with whom we look forward to cooperating.
The scholarship covers all tuition, room and board, transportation, health insurance and stationery costs for the entire duration of masters study.
We are also in the process of launching three more Dr Sylvia Meek Scholarships in Africa: two at the University of Nigeria, and one at the University of Pretoria, South Africa.
