Data holds power. It demonstrates the size and nature of social and economic problems, and brings clarity around who is being left behind. Through reliable data, women and girls can be more visible and counted. Lack of comprehensive, current information about women and girls, especially in developing countries, hinders efforts to advance gender equality and the health of women, children and adolescents.
