Dr Godfrey Magumba is an experienced, well-rounded public health and organisational management professional with three decades experience in designing and managing complex programmes and large teams. His core expertise includes strategic planning, management, establishing networks and mobilising resources. Dr Magumba has a solid understanding of malaria and communicable diseases control approaches, with a track record of identifying and accomplishing innovative solutions. He brings strong experience in implementing large programmes, for example, the acquisition and implementation of two Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) Universal Coverage Campaign distributions each involving over 20 million nets (2013/14 and 2016/17). He has pursued business opportunities from a wide range of donors including USAID, the Global Fund, DFID, UNICEF, Comic Relief to site but a few. He joined Malaria Consortium in July 2009 as the Uganda Country Director, a post which he has held until becoming the East and Southern Africa Programmes Director. During his tenor as the country head he oversaw the Ugandan office grow into solid programming within the organisation.
