Asia

Malaria Consortium has been engaged in malaria and disease control in the Greater Mekong Subregion of Asia since 2003, with offices in Cambodia and Thailand. Malaria Consortium Asia works with communities, health systems, government and non-government agencies, academic institutions as well as local and international organisations to ensure good evidence-based delivery of effective services. It has had a particular focus on providing technical support to national programmes and partners for the monitoring and evaluation of programmes to ensure the use of evidence-based decision-making and strategic planning. The region faces significant challenges in malaria control and elimination - including resistance to artemisinin, the most effective known anti-malaria drug. Our areas of focus in the region include:

  • Technical support for malaria control and elimination
  • Tackling anti-malarial drug resistance
  • Monitoring, evaluation and evidence-based decision making
