BBC Radio 4 Appeal
Renowned journalist and broadcaster John Simpson, BBC World Affairs Editor, kindly accepted our invitation to present the Radio 4 Appeal for Malaria Consortium on the 15th August, 2010. The issue is very a personal one for him as both he and members of his family have suffered from malaria in the past. He has also witnessed the impact of the disease on people and communities during his many periods reporting for the BBC from developing countries.
You can hear John talking about why he chose to support Malaria Consortium's appeal by listening to his audioboo below.
Despite the existence of effective treatment and prevention methods, a child dies from malaria every 45 seconds in sub-Saharan Africa. A small amount of money can make a huge difference and save the lives of children most at risk.
