In Nigeria, long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLINs) can be accessed through mass distribution campaigns and routine distribution - both of which are designed for LLIN distribution to the most vulnerable groups - as well as through the commercial sector.
Malaria Consortium's Support to National Malaria Programme (SuNMaP) project has been working in Nigeria with partners to achieve universal coverage of nets by strengthening the LLIN commercial sector market.
This Learning Paper details the challenges facing the commercial sector in Nigeria and SuNMaP’s unique approach to support the commercial sector market, including working with manufacturers and distributors of LLINs as well as with state governments and the National Malaria Elimination Program. The paper also provides valuable learning on how free distribution, mass campaigns and the commercial sector can work together harmoniously to achieve the highest possible LLIN coverage.
