Long-lasting insecticidal nets (LLIN) are now standard for the prevention of malaria. However, only products with recommendation for public use from the World Health Organization should be used and this evaluation includes the assessment of net effectiveness after three years of field use. This study presents the results of three and a half years of field testing of one of the polyester-based LLIN products, the Interceptor (R) brand, in Western Uganda in a setting where other LLIN brands have been or are being tested allowing a direct comparison of the performances.
