What is your relevant experience?
The varied experience, education and career paths I have enjoyed prior to living in Mozambique gave me solid skills in coordination, management and communications. Since joining Malaria Consortium in 2005, these have been greatly strengthened, as has my ability to adapt and respond and learn from constantly changing and often challenging circumstances.
Why are you passionate about tackling malaria?
The key for me with regard to malaria is the possibility of having a demonstrable impact on changing the course of this disease on a number of levels, and to directly affect national statistics – whilst being able to translate these anonymous numbers readily into the faces of those working to achieve this impact and those benefiting from this work.
What is special to you about the Malaria Consortium?
Malaria Consortium stands out from the majority of organizations I know due to the high standards, professionalism, experience and (importantly) strong technical skills available in-house. These guide project staff and activities and it is extremely rewarding to be confident in the advice and support on hand and in the accuracy of what we in the field are implementing.
