Name: Agnes Suubi
Position: Senior Operations Officer, Malaria Consortium Africa (Uganda)
Email address:  a.suubi@malariaconsortium.org
What is your relevant experience?

I joined the Malaria Consortium in October 2003 from Population Services International (PSI). I started out working in the administrative section for 6 months and later was promoted to work in the Operations Department.  I was involved in the first mass campaigns to re-treat nets in Uganda, designing a mosquito net  re-treatment campaign, coordinating the Malaria No More nets distribution campaign to pregnant women and children under five in Uganda as well as supporting Malaria Consortium to pilot the first mass free mosquito nets distribution in Southern Sudan as part of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and Malaria (GFATM).

Why are you passionate about tackling malaria?

Malaria kills within a very short time, yet it can be prevented.  If people knew how effective LLINs are in preventing the disease, the burden would lessen.  That is why I enjoy my role in mass distribution campaigns of free LLINs.

What is special to you about the Malaria Consortium?

Malaria Consortium always trusts me with important projects. This has built my confidence over the years and given me a chance to prove myself. The recognition of the efforts put in by the employees and the encouragement of team work.
