Malaria Consortium is an international organisation working primarily in Africa and Asia on communicable disease control. Malaria Consortium works closely with Ministries of Health, academic institutions and a range of partners, and is involved in all aspects of malaria control from policy and strategy development to implementation, monitoring and evaluation and operational research. Malaria Consortium also works on the control of other communicable diseases, including tuberculosis, diarrhoea and neglected tropical diseases. Malaria Consortium Uganda has recently been awarded funding by UNICEF to implement community case management for malaria, pneumonia and diarrhoea through village health teams. The project is being implemented in the central region, namely Wakiso, Masaka and Mpigi districts. The project runs until the end of 2012, with the possibility of an extension until the end of 2014.

Our main country offices and programmes implement comprehensive malaria control activities in six countries: Uganda, Ethiopia, Nigeria, Mozambique, Southern Sudan, and Zambia. We have smaller operations in several other African countries, and also in Thailand and Cambodia. Our head office is in London, UK. This position will be based in Juba with considerable time spent in the field sites. Technical supervision will be provided by the Communicable Disease Treatment Specialist based in Kampala. In-country functional line manager will be the Malaria Consortium Country Director.
