Malaria Consortium is convening World Pneumonia Day this year on 12 November. Together with our partners, we have chosen to focus World Pneumonia Day 2014 around the need for increased access to prevention and care for pneumonia, which is key to defeat the disease.

On the Sixth Annual World Pneumonia Day, we will call for an urgent end to the number of preventable child deaths by 2030.

Malaria Consortium Cambodia is holding a solidarity dinner joined by local health officials, CARE, Plan international, Krousar Yeung, HPA, ICC and NGOs Network representative to discuss the Pneumonia Diagnostics Project, its progress and the role of community health workers and front line health facility workers on pneumonia.

Here are some of Malaria Consortium's events going on around the world:

Malaria Consortium Ethiopia is hosting a panel discussion where government representatives, nongovernmental organizations and other partners working on child health, including national and local health officials, WHO, UNICEF, Save the Children, IFHP and L10K, will discuss achievements in ICCM programs in Ethiopia, challenges and the way forward on pneumonia diagnosis and treatment.
