Baroness Lindsay Northover is the House of Lords Spokesperson on Foreign Affairs for the Liberal Democrats and UK Trade Envoy to Angola.
She was a Parliamentarian under the Secretary of State at the Department of International Development (DFID), and Minister for Africa, 2014-15. Prior to that she served in a number of Government departments, including those of Health, Education, Energy and Climate Change, the Government Equalities Office, as well as DFID.
Baroness Northover is an Honorary Associate Professor at Imperial College’s Institute of Global Health Innovation and a Wilton Park Advisory Council member. She is a former Overseas Development Institute Council member and a Trustee of the Tropical Health and Education Trust and UNICEF UK. Her first degree was from Oxford University, and her Master’s and PhD are from Bryn Mawr College and the University of Pennsylvania, USA. She was formerly an academic at University College London and the Wellcome Institute.
